WhatsApp to Your Second Brain

Pull your WhatsApp chats, text and automatically transcribed voice notes, into files for your brain. It all happens inside your Claude Code desktop app. Everything runs on your own Mac, nothing is uploaded.

You need  The Claude Code desktop app (Mac) Time  ~20 min Cost  Free, runs locally
You do this by talking to your Claude Code app. Claude does the work. You only handle two quick one-time setup things below, then tell it which chats to import.
1

Get WhatsApp Desktop ready

One-time, and it's the part that takes the longest (mostly waiting for it to sync).

2

Turn on Full Disk Access

macOS protects WhatsApp's data, so your Claude Code app needs permission to read it. This is the step everyone forgets, so do it now.

If Claude later says it "can't open the database", it's almost always this step. Turn it on, restart the app, and tell Claude to try again.
3

Save and unzip the file

Find the whatsapp-to-brain.zip that was sent to you.

4

Tell Claude to do it

Open your Claude Code app, copy this message and paste it in:

In my Downloads folder I unzipped a folder called "whatsapp-to-brain".
Open the file READ-THIS-CLAUDE.md inside it and follow those instructions
to import my WhatsApp chats into my brain.
If you saved the folder somewhere other than Downloads, just say where instead. You can also drag the folder into the chat.
5

Pick your chats, and approve

The whole thing at a glance

Install & sync WhatsApp Desktop (one time)
Turn on Full Disk Access for your Claude Code app (one time)
Unzip the file (Downloads is fine)
Paste the message from Step 4 into Claude
Tell it which chats, approve each step
Done , Claude tells you where your files are
Privacy. Everything runs on your own Mac and nothing is uploaded. This can read your whole WhatsApp, so only the chats you name get imported. Group chats include other people's messages, so choose the ones you actually want.
